Our Goal
Examining and improving the health of adolescents and emerging adults through a biopsychosocial framework. Health is not simply the lack of disease, but also includes psychological well-being (e.g. depression) and social factors (e.g. weight stigma, peer relationships).
We hope to expand research on topics such as, sex education, how media impacts adolescents, pelvic floor health, peer relationships, and many more important health-related topics in adolescence and emerging adulthood. These topics are poorly researched, despite their importance. Gaining knowledge on adolescent health will help future researchers better understand how we can work with people going through such a formative period of their lives.
